University Foundation Programme in Health & Science

Aims:

  • Writing skills for academic purposes
  • English for study purposes
  • Learning strategies and study skills
  • Academic English for studies in Health & Science

 

Health & Science Programme Modules:

  • English for Specific Academic Purposes (ESAP)
  • Mathematics for Science
  • Science: Physics, Chemistry, Biology
  • Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

 

Entry Requirements:

Students must have completed their formal schooling and achieved good results. Students need to have an IELTS score of 5.0 with no individual component less than 4.5 from a registered IELTS testing centre. Students must also have completed 12 years of schooling. The validation of such international qualifications will be confirmed in accordance with Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI).

 

Assessment:

  • Entry test on arrival
  • Continuous assessment: Class work, course assignments (written essays & oral presentation)
  • Weekly tutorials
  • Exit test on completion
